I was born in Germany from Chinese-
I have always been fascinated by other cultures and ancient history. In fact I didn’t feel connected to only one particular culture, but several. As I became older I discovered my passion for Italy, and despite my Asian roots I loved the South American temperament. Still eager to explore and learn from many other cultures and their customs, habits and heritage, I was always drawn by the diversity of people and their traditions universally.
I am especially interested what the effect of those traditions had in their present lives and how the traditions still influences their current lifestyles.
The Whys and the Hows always seemed to be answered by the opening of new doors and…more questions.
In the journey of our lives we explore on all levels what we have learnt from our parents, grandparents and ancestors. It is our job to choose what we can and will use in our lives and what we will pass on to our children: our future.
In 2008 I got pregnant with my son. It was at that moment that I became aware of my need to (re)discover my own roots. I had learnt about so many beautiful and precious characteristics of nations and countries. But I had no idea what my own heritage was. For our son’s sake I wanted to lead diversity into enrichment. Crossing cultures (virtual or in real life) and being multicultural teach us to see the world in many different ways.
